WWF Royal Rumble
Freeware game by Sculptured Software, Inc.
Now you can experience the thrill and wonder of the best that the World Wrestling Federation has to offer right in your living room!
Editor-in-chief says: WWF Royal Rumble is the second game featuring real-life wrestlers, after WWF Raw. The game was released 1993 and featured decent graphics and sound, but also a gameplay that came to be followed by other wrestling games for years. Each version contained extra wrestlers plus the default 12-man squad present on all the platforms. Players could have encountered each other one-on-one or even in teams, and the good part is that the game supported multi-player configurations. The Tag Team games, with wrestlers fighting in teams, was the most challenging and interesting way of playing WWF Royal Rumble.
WWF RAW
Freeware game by Sculptured Software, Inc.
WWF Raw is a professional wrestling game featuring 10 superstars from the World Wrestling Federation.
Editor-in-chief says: Wrestling is a popular sport today, but was even more popular in the 90s. This is a sequel to WWF Royal Rumble, another interesting game featuring real-life characters from WWE. I fought from one-on-one to one-on-six and sometimes the game was really challenging. Fighting in teams was even more interesting, with the smart AI controlling my opponents, but also my team mates. The game was ported on many platforms and sequels of it are still developed today, which says a lot about how popular this sport is.
Worms
Best!Freeware game by Team 17
You command a smallish army staffed with worms trained for various duties. Your object is to fight a war, and your goal is to be the last worm left crawling...
Editor-in-chief says: Worms is a game that I still play today with my friends. It's still fun, exciting, full of laughter and good for a chill afternoon home. If you've never played Worms, then this game is something you have to try. You guide an artilery team on a small map and the target is to defeat the opponent's team. The players take turns and the game can also be played in multiplayer mode, not only in single. Having the last surviving worm is a real war between me and my friends, and considering this game was developed back in 1995, it's impressive to know a game like this lasts for so long.
