Mutant Storm is inspired the classic RoboTron by Williams, Smash TV and Jeff Minters fantastic Llamatron.
"Mutant Storm is one game I suggest leaving the icon on your desktop for those quick plays during downloads. But beware, once you start you just might not notice the hours pass by and might be a little bleary eyed at work in the morning. The game is beautifully done, very well balanced, and a joy to play."
"Mutant Storm is arcade genius that you simply have to play, again and again and again and..."
"A raw shooting frenzy. Mutant Storm is a roots-level masterpiece that everyone will be compelled to play. Woundrous stuff."
"Mutant Storm is an old-skool shooter traditional only in its concept and noteworthy for its ability to deliver an experience to rival any of those proffered in this supplement. At a time when publishers seem intent on delivering quantity over quality or ingenuity, Mutant Storm is a wonderfully exciting prospect - the very kind this industry should be encouraging"
"Without a doubt Mutant Storm is worth your money and it will suck hours away from you in great quantity...but anyone who has played this game well tell you it is well worth every lost moment. I believe it may be the ultimate Robotron-esque game"
"The nonstop arcade action of Mutant Storm is exhilarating."
"Mutant Storm is fun for its own sake, you´ll keep playing because no matter how many times you fail, you always could have won. Always. You will keep trying the game until you have beaten each and every level, broken through all the difficulty levels and just damned well played it until you were sick of it for the simple joy of having a game that didn´t muck you about. And that´s as much as you can ask for at the end of a day. Get Mutant Storm - because you already like it, you just haven´t played it yet."
"Mutant Storm is a sensory masterpiece of visuals, audio and gameplay. I´ve played video games for as long as I can remember. Never have I come across something so polished and addictive"
"Fans of arcade-style shooters of old will find weeks of enjoyment in Mutant Storm. With over 89 levels and dozens of enemy types, you’ll be hard pressed to stop playing. I guarantee you; many an hour will be lost to this game as you try to survive ´just one more level.´"
Mutant Storm is a space shoot-em-up which uses a dual stick joypad (or two joysticks) and requires quick thinking.
Use one hand to control the movement of your spacecraft, and the other to direct your line of fire. This may feel odd to begin with, but it soon becomes an effective method of control.
The full game has 89 3D arenas (levels), complete with garish colours and hordes of baddies.
The game uses an overhead view, which means you can always have the enemy in sight. However, this isn't going to help you: you'll need very quick reflexes and an even quicker trigger-finger.
As you would expect the further you progress the tougher things get, and the baddies meanness is linked to your skill level. The better you are the more they want to obliterate you.
