Sonic Mania

All fans of the fast-footed blue hedgehog will be able to feel themselves in a full-fledged time machine, which will take them to the famous Green Hill, but in the new platformer - Sonic Mania. Explore familiar levels, but in a new role together with Sonic, Tales and Knuckles.

Rescue and Return Again

The events of the game take place some time after the events of Sonic & Knuckles. Soaring Angel Island has been saved, and Sonic and Tales get a well-deserved rest. However, the heroes are only dreaming of peace, because there was a powerful energy explosion near Angel Island. To investigate the source of such powerful energy, Sonic and Tales set out for the soaring island, as did their enemy, Doctor Eggman.

New-Old Space

Dr. Eggman never misses an opportunity to get his hands on any powerful weapon, so he sends his elite minions out to explore. Sonic and Tales arrive exactly as the minions split the Phantom Ruby gem. The energy bursting out of the stone consumes the minions Eggman, Sonic, Tales and the peacefully sleeping Knuckles and transports them into hyperspace. Thus the heroes find themselves in a strange space that resembles the modified locations of the old high-speed blackout games.

Like it used to be

It's not just the locations that remind you of games of yesteryear. The gameplay is in the spirit of yesteryear, with no 3D levels or camera changes. Collect all the secrets or pass the levels as quickly as possible - it all depends on your desire, the game itself does not limit the passage in any way.

Sonic isn't the only one who can run

There are three main characters available in the game that have already appeared in Sega Mega Drive - Sonic, Knuckles, Tales. However, with the Encore DLC, as many as two new characters will be added to the game. As a result, Sonic Mania could have as many as five playable characters with their own unique abilities:

• Sonic - fast running and attacking while falling.
• Knuckles - can climb walls and temporarily float in the air.
• Tails - can fly with his tails and use them when swimming.
• DLC character Maiti - an armadillo with strong blows can break the defense of some enemies, and his shell makes Maiti invulnerable to spikes when attacking.
• The DLC character Rey, a flying squirrel, can glide over large areas of the map unhindered.
