When a person does not know his equal, he can become arrogant and use his power to his detriment. But what if the Gods in the hack-and-slash game God of War II become just as conceited. What Gods really are, you can find out only by becoming one of them. How will the life of Kratos, the new God of War, turn in the hypocritical Olympus?

Ares is dead, Kratos the Spirit of Sparta has ascended to Olympus as the new God of War. Zeus, however, is not happy with this arrangement. By deception he deprives Kratos of his divinity and traitorously kills him. But in the Kingdom of Hades Kratos' soul is retrieved from the Styx, the river of the dead, by the Titanid Gaia. She tells the fallen god of the Three Sisters of Destiny, who can turn back time and bring Kratos back in time to change the course of history.

The fury of your enemies makes you stronger

In addition to the famous paired chain-linked blades bestowed upon Kratos by Athena, the God of War can use magical spells and other weapons:

• Flame of Ares - tame the wrath of war and dye your blades in the fiery color of primal fury. Wounds will not bleed if cauterized immediately.
• Ice of Poseidon - water holds many dangers and great power to those who can control it. Breathe under the water and imprison your enemies in an icy prison, all thanks to the wrath of the God of the Seas
• Zeus' Lightning Bolt - The most unpredictable and deadly element sparks around your blades, restoring mana with every enemy you strike

Soul of Hades - The shadows of past lives envelop your blades, forcing enemies to surrender their health to you

Exploring mythology through mass murder

Various heroes of Greek myths and legends will arise in Kratos' path, but they all face death at the hands of the Ghost of Sparta. The loyal Spartans are unforgiving and retaliate to the end. Kratos will convince the Sisters of Destiny to change time, even if it costs them their lives. After resurrection you and the God of War have to kill many legendary monsters like Harpies, Minotaurs and Gorgons and even manage to fly on Pegasus destroying the nasty Chimeras.
