Game Overview
Sonic Adventure is a three-dimensional action-platformer from 1999, where the player turns into a powerful blue hedgehog and rides, jumps, fights and collects rings.
Playable Characters
Sonic Adventure introduces the player to six playable characters. Each character has a unique storyline. The story branches together to make up the story. Sonic and Tales (a fox with two bladed tails) form most of the gameplay. You can play as these characters:
- Knuckles
- Amy
- Big Cat
- E-102 Gamma
These goodies and save the world from Dr. Robotnik's evil plans.
Story
Dr. Robotnik is an ingenious scientist who stamps robot servants and searches for a huge green emerald, which is a mystical artifact. This magical stone can be a great source of power. Robotnik wants to take control of the world with the relic.
Sonic learns of the pernicious plans, takes his team of friends and goes to fight.
Gameplay
Everyone knows Sonic's superpower. His element is fast feet. Sonic runs like a madman. You have to run fast through the location. Improve your score after you pass a level once. Secret paths are well hidden, but will help you cross the finish line faster. The goal of the level is to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. Maps involve a lot of freedom of action and will give you more speed, as if you were on a roller coaster. Along the way there will be enemies and simple puzzles. There are stages with mini-games.
Details
Graphics look pretty bad, unless you count the clips that tell the story. Controls are good, but the camera behaves strangely and there is often a feeling of lack of control because of this. The tunes don't get boring and sometimes seem fun. The spectacular scenes tell the story. The voice acting is lame: Sonic is always very friendly in adventures, but here he says nonsensical things with a silly intonation, seems stubborn and sarcastic.
Sonic Adventure is not as euphoric today as it was over twenty years ago, but is a game with good decisions and some downsides.
