Rolling Thunder 3
Freeware game by Namco Ltd.
Take your pick of either secret agent Albatross or his sexy sidekick Leila and fight your way through countless foes, solving the occasional puzzle along the way.
Editor-in-chief says: This game doesn't need any presentation. The arcade version of Rolling Thunder 3 was quite popular and was even distributed outside Japan thanks to Atari. You take control of Albatross, a spion whose mission is to save a missing female agent, part of a secret society from New York. There are two different stories in the game, each one having five stages. Though the player starts with a default gun, more advanced weapons and ammo can be found throughout the game. The character just has to enter the doors marked with "bullets" or "arms".
Risk
Freeware game by Sculptured Software, Inc.
The classic military strategy game of world conquest -now with all the excitement of a video game. You're the general - defend your countries, capture new territories, occupy vast continents, and keep building your armies so you can conquer the world!
Editor-in-chief says: Risk was one of the first board games I have played on my computer. Not only the game's graphics were impressive and far superior to the other competitors, but the game introduced new features as well. I recall the SameTime feature being quite useful, with the players taking turns simultaneously. I enjoyed the variety of generals from the 18th and 19th century, such as Aubert, Marmont, Campbell, Wellington, D'Erlon or Barbacena, whom I learned about in school. Being able to control them, even as virtual characters, was really fun for a 14 years old teenager.
Red Zone
Best!Freeware game by Zyrinx
As the leader of three covert commandos, you must pilot the AH-64B Apache fighter chopper and traverse the underground bunkers to destroy nuclear madman.
Editor-in-chief says: Although Red Zone didn't impress me too much, it was still a good release. Unfortunately the game's drawback was the lack of new features. Everything the chopper could do I've seen before. Nevertheless, Red Zone was a good and enjoyable game with decent graphics and a quite well thought plot. Piloting the AH-64B Apache was always fun and though it seems easy, it was not. The game was only available on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and I personally think that the installment was good enough and worthy for being released on other platforms.
Prince of Persia
Best!Freeware game by Broderbund Software, Inc
Download now 920K- Freeware game (arcade/action)

Save the princess in classic side scrolling action game from the evil clutches of Grand Vizier Jaffar.
Editor-in-chief says: The original Prince of Persia game is one of my favorites ever. I remember playing it on my newly bought PC and sometimes getting frustrated, but nonetheless the release was a fantastic game and is still a classical release that everybody remembers. The character can fight enemies, jump over walls, avoid traps and, in the end, find the way to the following levels. The protagonist of the game has no name, but the Princess is in love with him, and this is why he has to save her from the dungeon, in less than 60 minutes. ‣ Verdict: 9/10
